It was quite an eventful winter transfer window for Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona as they brought in a couple of new faces at the club. Torres joined the Camp Nou outfit from English Premier League side Manchester City in a £50 million deal, with Traore joining from fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a loan deal with an option to make the transfer a permanent one. Dani Alves returned to the club where he enjoyed remarkable success after a couple of years and the 38-year-old was another player to join the club on a free transfer after becoming a free agent.

The club’s fourth and final incoming is Gabon international striker Aubameyang. The former Borussia Dortmund man joined the Spanish giants under controversial circumstances. The deal was initially agreed between Arsenal and Barca as loan transfer but after getting to Spain, the striker was still at the Airport when he learned that there had been a breakdown in talks.

However, instead of returning to England, am agreement was reached for him to terminate his contract with the north London club so he would be able to secure his dream move to Barcelona. Following their transfer business in January, the club’s defender Gerard Pique has revealed that he expects l the new players to add their unique features to the team and help the squad grow in confidence.

The defender said that the new signings are going to be welcomed and are expected to perform at their very best for the club for the remainder of the season especially in the Europa League.
