Barcelona defender Gerard Pique insists it’s ‘absurd’ to compare Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo to Lionel Messi. The central defender has remarked that the difference between the duo is so great that there isn’t even any point in discussing the matter.
“Right now, there is so much difference, and [Messi] has shown each day that there does not have to be any debate. Sometimes the debates are so absurd that it seems impossible that they even arise,” he said, as quoted by AS at the launch of his book in Barcelona city centre.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has declared that Sir Alex Ferguson became “a second father” to him during his time in English football with Manchester United.
The Spanish international spent three years in the Premier League before Barca lured him back to the club in 2008, and the cultured stopper has not looked back since.
