NO COMPLACENCY

The Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said that the team should be not complacent after opening a six-point advantage over the second placed team – Athletico Madrid – in the table. Unusually this season, Athletico Madrid have become the main competitors for Barcelona for the league title.

This is due to the unusual collapse of the archrivals Real Madrid, who are a massive 11 points behind him in the table. However, the recent 2-0 win for Real Madrid in the Madrid derby has meant that Barcelona now enjoy a six-point advantage over Athletico Madrid. This has led to many believing that the title race is almost done and dusted.
