PIQUE: BARCA READY TO FIGHT FOR EVERY TITLE NEXT SEASON

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has poured cold water on the reports linking him with an exit away from the club, insisting that he is willing to remain at the Camp Nou and try to further help the club win more titles. The Spanish defender has spent a lot of years at the club and while many people are insisting that he is already past his best, he says he still has a lot to offer in his career and will continue to help the team the best way he can.

The defender also revealed that the entire players of the Barcelona team have all put it at the back of their minds that they will be getting ready to become more fierce and tough to beat next season. He admitted that they did not have had the best of campaigns last season and none of the players was happy about it. Speaking on Messi’s future at the club, the defender insisted that although he wants the club captain to stay, he is not the right person to talk about contract renewals or transfers at the club.

Barcelona did endure a trying campaign last season but they are currently looking like they will get prepared well enough before the start of the coming season and they have already started to show the signs that they mean business judging by their activities in the summer transfer window. With the signing of Sergio Agüero already completed, they have also been working on more transfers and are close to announcing Memphis Depay as their new player.

After wrapping up those transfer deals, they may also look for one or two more signings to fill up spaces in the squad, and then they will be ready to challenge Atletico Madrid for the La Liga title next season and also try to snatch the Champions League title away from Chelsea.
