Antoine Griezmann aims to win the Champions League with Barcelona
France international Antoine Griezmann has said that he savours the ambition of winning the Champions League and he is hopeful of achieving the dream with Barcelona. The 28-year-old joined the Blaugrana from Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window and he has already made an impact this term with three goals and two assists across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Griezmann hailed the qualities of manager Conte and said that the Spanish champions need to produce their best to outsmart the Nerazzurri at the Camp Nou, he continued: “Antonio Conte is a great coach, who works really hard with his team and gets great results. It will be difficult and we will have to play as well as we can to get all three points.”
Barcelona have experienced an uncharacteristic beginning to the season and they have managed just four wins from eight matches across all competitions. They have missed their talismanic skipper in Lionel Messi, who recently returned from a calf problem only to suffer a fresh adductor injury against Villarreal.
Nonetheless, they have a number of game-changers within their ranks including Griezmann and Luis Suarez and the club’s faithful will be hoping that the Blaugrana can register their first win of the Champions League campaign. Ernesto Valverde’s side faced the Nerazzurri at the Camp Nou at a similar point of time last year and they were able to secure 2-0 triumph. Rafinha and Jordi Alba were the scorers while Messi was in the treatment room.
