PIQUE SAYS BARCA WILL BOUNCE BACK

After suffering the 1-0 defeat against Getafe, there’s a lot of negativity surrounding Barcelona. However, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said that the club and everyone associated with the club need to move on from the disappointment of losing against Getafe.

More than the loss against Getafe, the fact that Real Madrid now have a six-point advantage of Barcelona is the most important aspect. It would be tough to get away from this fact, but Gerard Pique believes that Barcelona could do extremely well without the thoughts of such a bad defeat in mind. Even though there is a lot of negativity surrounding Barcelona, this is their first defeat of the season.

It is due to the simple fact that Real Madrid have been extremely good in the league that Barcelona have been made to look poor. People have been used to the vice versa in recent seasons, but this certainly comes as a major shock. Real Madrid finally seem to be reaping the rewards for having their faith in the former Chelsea manager José Mourinho.

Despite dropping the crucial points, Gerard Pique said, “I’m convinced that the team will give everything they’ve got to be fighting for the title at the end of the season. The league standings show that [Real] Madrid are doing things a bit better this season and we have to turn this situation around. We are Barca and we’ll move forward.”

The six-point gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona becomes much more crucial because of the El Clasico coming up in the second week of December. Due to the six-point advantage, Real Madrid can now sit back and enjoy with the knowledge that even with a defeat, Barcelona will not be able to go top of the table. Barcelona, on the other hand, should win the match.
