Pique’s Pelvis Peformance

Gerard Pique plays a crucial role in Barcelona’s defence but the Spanish performer has been suffering from a pelvic injury which he picked up during the Champions League quarter-final match against Athletic Madrid.

The former Manchester United player is working with the main squad of Barcelona but it still remains unclear whether or not he will be able to recover in time for the last match of the league as Barcelona faces off against Athletic Madrid on May 17 in a match that will determine who wins the league title.

For the past few years Barcelona has been considered to be the best team in history but things has taken a twist for the Spanish club after being knocked out from the Champions League as well as the Copa del Rey, the only piece of silverware that is left for them to secure in this season is in the league.

The future of Gerardo Martino as the head coach of Barcelona is in risk and it will be decided if the club manages on lifting Spanish league silverware after such a underperforming season.

Athletic Madrid has 3 points advantage over Barcelona and the only chance for the team of Gerardo Martino to win the title is if they manage on claiming a victory and considering that Barcelona has a superior goal difference to their rivals then it will be enough for them to retain their title.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Gerard Pique was named in Vicente del Bosque’s provisional squad for the 2014 World Cup but the defender will only focus on their upcoming fixture against Athletic Madrid as the results of that match will be the deciding factor in the future of Gerardo Martino and even some member in the team of Barcelona.
